Class 1

Welcome to Year 1

The Year One Team are:

Mrs Wood

Class Teacher

I have been teaching at Manorfield for 6 years and have taught children in EYFS and KS2.

I have got 2 dogs who I love going on adventures with. I enjoy going away in a caravan and exploring different places.

I love drawing and art, as well as music.

Mrs Berry

Class Teacher

I have been teaching at Manorfield for over 8 years now and I have taught all across the school in EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

My favourite subjects to teach are Phonics and Music and I’m looking forward to teaching about the Victorians too and going on our school trip! There are lots of other exciting topics in Year 1 too.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and going on holiday and exploring new places. I also love to go to the theatre to see different shows and musicals. Matilda and The Lion King are my favourites! I can play the flute and I played at the Barbican in London when I was younger.

 Miss Johnson

Class Teacher

This will be my second year teaching at Manorfield and I am looking forward to continuing my journey in Key Stage 1.

My favourite subjects to teach are Maths and Music, but I also love exploring the different topics in fun and creative ways.

Outside of school, I love singing, musical theatre and performing in shows at my local theatre. I also love to focus on my hobbies including building Lego, jigsaws and crafts, as well as spending time with my family.

I am new to Manorfield, as a member of the team, but have been part of the PTFA and a parent to two children who have attended the school since 2013.

I have been teaching since 2010 and have covered both KS1 and KS2 during this time, in city and county schools.

During my time teaching, I enjoy making connections in Maths and watching the improvement in writing. I am passionate about reading and our class library will always reflect this.

My family and I have lived in Stoney Stanton since 2013. We love the community and support as many ventures in and around the village that we can. Outside of school, I am a busy mum to an active daughter and enjoy all the joys this brings.

I am very much looking forward to working with Mrs Berry and the team in Year 1 and watching the growth in your children over the academic year.
