Admissions

Children start school at the start of the Autumn Term after their fourth birthday. For details about ‘First- Time Admissions‘ please see below.

Parents who are considering sending their child to Manorfield School are invited to make an appointment to visit. This can include a discussion with staff and the opportunity to see pupils at work in their learning environment and making use of the school’s many facilities.

The term before the children start school the EYFS staff visit the local playschools to share in a session and meet the children. The children’s parents and carers are invited to attend a Pre-School meeting to find out about the school’s ethos and routines.

Please do remember that all children are unique! There is no expectation for a child to be able to do everything identified in the resources above. They are for guidance only and to set the scene for what your child will develop within their time in EYFS.

Uniform

It is our policy at Manorfield that all children should wear a school uniform when attending school, or when participating in a school-organised event outside normal school hours, that is flexible and suitable for all young people and all budgets. We ask that all uniform and belongings are labelled with the child’s name.

Schools Meals

At Manorfield every pupil in Reception, Year 1 and 2 are be eligible for a Universal free school meal.

Free School Meals and Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium fund is extra Government money which is paid to schools to support children’s learning and development. Children from EYFS to Year 11 may be eligible if they: are registered for Free School Meals (FSM), have been registered for FSM at any point in the last 6 years, are or have been in care. Let your child’s school know this information if you haven’t already or have parents in the armed forces.

Whilst during KS1 (EYFS – Year 2) children are entitled to a Universal School Meal, depending on set criteria your child may be entitled to FSM (Free School Meals) and therefore entitled to Pupil Premium as detailed above.

Milk

Free milk is available for all children aged under five in school, funded by the UK Government.

At Manorfield, this milk is supplied by Cool Milk, the UK’s leading school milk supplier. In order for your child to receive free school milk we supply your name, contact details and child’s name and date of birth to Cool Milk.

ParentPay

Manorfield is a ‘cashless’ school and uses a online payment system called ParentPay. Once your child starts at our school we will send you an activation letter containing your activation username and password to enable you to setup your ParentPay account.

Healthy Together

Public health nurses (health visitors and school nurses) are part of Healthy Together – Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust’s public health programme for children and young people aged 0-19 and their families. You can continue to access your public health nursing team for help and support in relation to any health needs that may be affecting his or her development and wellbeing or ability to learn.

Smiles Childerns' Clubs

Breakfast Club – Smiles breakfast club typically runs from 07:30am until the start of school. Children have access to a buffet style breakfast consisting of a selection of healthy cereals fruit, toast with a choice of spreads, yoghurt and a choice of juice.
Children are encouraged to develop their independence by making their own choices and serving themselves with adult supervision and support.
The session is a very social one and staff enjoy joining the children for their own breakfast. When children have finished eating and playing, the session is finished off with a team game to get everyone feeling alert and ready to start their school day.

After School Club – Smiles after school starts as soon as school ends. Children meet Smiles staff (KS1 children are collected from their classrooms) for registration and then help themselves to a healthy, substantial snack, and discuss how their day has been and what activities they would like out for the session.

The children have the opportunity to take part in a variety of fun activities that will encourage physical, creative and imaginative play. Children can let off steam with a team game or chill out in the chill zone after a busy day at school.
